Focus and Scope

INSAM Journal of Contemporary Music, Art and Technology is an international peer reviewed journal dealing with topical issues in contemporary art music, visual and performing arts, and technology. The journal encourages interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches and innovative views on these subjects, aiming to create a platform for communicating new ideas and theoretical and artistic impulses.

INSAM Journal of Contemporary Music, Art, and Technology publishes original papers that have not been published previously. INSAM Journal is structured in four sections: The Main Theme, Beyond the Main Theme, Reviews, and Interviews. Only The Main Theme section is predefined by the main topic; in other sections, we welcome contributions related to contemporary art and media theory, art music, performing and visual arts, technology.

The journal is relevant to academic and freelance researchers, theorists and curators with an interest in music, art and technology practices from the positions of scientific fields, theoretical approaches, platforms and schools of thought that encompass musicology, art theory, performance studies, poststructuralism, deconstruction, theoretical psychoanalysis, neo- and post-marxism, philosophy, aesthetics, cultural studies, media studies, biopolitics, new phenomenology, etc.

The Journal is issued semi-annually (in July and December) in open access electronic form.

Contributions to journal shall be submitted in English (preferably) or Bosnian, with obligatory summaries in English language (if the main text of the study is Bosnian).
